The Association of Independent Hospitality Professionals has added an exciting new general session to the conference. Titled “Industry Experts in the Hot Seat“, this talk-show format session will answer your marketing questions as AIHP CEO Rob Fulton grills four hospitality authorities on hospitality trends and shifts so that you will know what guests are expecting and be ready to meet those expectations!
The four experts are:
Lisa Westlake Chen, General Manager of BedandBreakfast.com – in addition to her twenty year career as a business executive in the operational, digital, marketing and branding fields, Lisa is an avid B&B customer. She’s stayed at over 100 bed and breakfasts world-wide and has the experience as not only a guest, but a savvy marketer as well.
Brian Payea, Head of Industry Relations, TripAdvisor – Brian has had a varied career as a public relations, marketing, government relations, and investor relations at several technology and Internet companies, and now carries the social media torch to travel industry events world-wide. As the industry-relations head at TripAdvisor, Brian and his team look for ways to help innkeepers and hoteliers to use the information provided by travelers on TA.
Judy Z. King, Founder and Principal of Quality Management Services, LLC – In her capacity as head of QMS, Judy has consulted with many large and well-known hospitality businesses on Quality and Service, Leadership and Staff Development, and Facilitation of Strategic Planning and Meetings. Judy is an allied member of the American Hotel & Lodging Association and co-author of Quality Leadership and Management in the Hospitality Industry, a textbook on hospitality. Judy is also an adjunct professor for Trevecca Nazarene University’s Educational Leadership Doctoral Program in Nashville.
Fig Cakar, Managing Director – the Americas, SiteMinder – Fig is a true industry expert, having started his career as an entry-level employee at the Turtle Beach Resort in Australia. From these humble roots, Fig has gone on to become Director of Sales at the resort, to working through the beginning of the OTA and wholesaler markets and on to working with Agoda, Rydges Hotels and Resorts, to now leading the American operations of Little Hotelier.
